For the record, I actually did test this, just in a slightly bodged test
rig rather than on real hardware. Sometimes installer testing doesn't
quite carry over to the real world easily.

What does 'sudo /usr/lib/base-installer/dmi-available-memory' say on the
machine you tested on, when running the live DVD session?
