Hi jeremyszu,
Thanks for the reply, I already saw them and thought I'd post here. I have now also found my solution to this and it was to install ubuntu 21.10 which didn't have this issue at all. I could boot from UEFI, got to the install, managed to create a second boot partition (since im dual boot) and successfully boot the system after install. Then upgraded the OS and everything is working fine. Leaving this if anyone else have this issue and want to try an easier approach. Cheers!
