Good news, I compiled the latest cvs version of Emacs and fontification worked fine with both nxhtml-1.60-081006 and nxhtml-1.61-081222-00_59_41 so I guess users which use Emacs from the weekly snapshots will have to wait to the next build after 2008-12-21.
