Perhaps we can start by making sure if the freeze is caused by
nextwindow_drv.so.
When the desktop freezes is the whole system frozen (ie can you still ssh in
and kill X)?
If you disable the X driver (say remove
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-nw-fermi.conf and restart X) do you still get
the freeze?
