Would it be possible for you to test some kernels, so we can identify which kernel introduced this regression? If so, it would be great if you could test the following kernels:

v3.3 final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.3-precise/
v3.4 final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-quantal/
