Bug Description

Hello,

Is it possible to set up a service for remote control for android Google Music?

It would serve to wander through the various music / radio, add to the queue, pause or play the next song.

In summary as a service "spotcommander" for "spotify"
https://code.google.com/p/spotcommander/

thank you

I've been thinking about your feature request for last few days. I think Android client is out of scope of the Nuvola Player project that focuses on integration with linux desktop environments, not with mobile platforms like Android. However, I must admit an Android client would be handy for many Nuvola Player users.

Spotcommander actually consists from two parts - server and client part. While there should be no problem to create the server part for Nuvola Player, the client part would be a bit tough, because I have no experiences with development of Android apps. However, the server interface could be accessible via an Android web browser and the native Android client could be developed later (probably by some more familiar with Android development). I've created a new ticket about the server part - bug #1255675 - https://bugs.launchpad.net/nuvola-player/+bug/1255675

I've also thought of this, but to me it may make much more sense to expose MIPRISv2 with a service and then have a android app being capable of controling any MIPRIS player remotely.

I've no idea how accessing MIPRIS remotely will work (if even possible - input needed), but writing the android app should be a no-brainer. Feel free to contact me, I was one of the Winamp for Android lead devs and know how to deal with the green robot.
