Comment 33 for bug 392204

I have the same problem on K/Ubuntu 10.04 (2GB Ram, E6750, ASUS P5B Deluxe). I have 4 SATA hard drives, with system on the first one (ext4) and various data on three others (ntfs). Copying 200GB of files from ie. second to third drive makes system nearly unusable. I tried the 2010.8.8 version of ntfs-3g, I got slightly better performance, but still very high: around 50-60% of CPU usage by monut.ntfs and about 20% by mc during file copying from one drive to another.
