Current state of play:

173794 is merged, 173897 is abandoned in favour of the merged 174288.

0001-Store-pid-of-processes.patch looks good to me, but should probably be a gerrit review with a more generic commit message. We need to release oslo.concurrency before we can use this in nova. This presents a problem as well, as I don't think we bump the dependancies for stable releases?

0001-Kill-rsync-scp-processes-before-deleting-instance.patch looks reasonable to me too.
