If you are hitting this issues and you are using rabbitmq SSL with the latest Trusty/Icehouse oslo.messaging then you will hitting the bug from:

For which there is a fix in trusty-proposed and it will shortly land in trusty-updates. I suggest you upgrade to that version of python-amqp to fix your problem.
