Comment 31 for bug 1334398

This came up again today in openstack-nova and recently on the ML.

I'll look at adding some version guarding around this feature. It defiantly works on precise with libvirtd 1.1.3.5 and qemu 1.5 as we have been running it in production with those version. So I think some basic version guarding should be sufficient.

mriedem has also requested the ability to conditionally enable it on different OS gates for easier testing so I will work on that as well.
