Bug Description
I'm constantly experiencing a physics slowdown (which is shown by calling nikki with -p option) of around 5 to 8 %, although my CPU is not fully used.
CPU load is around 35 to 40 %, though this is on a dual core machine (x86 centrino duo / Gentoo Linux).

I also experience a physics slowdown of 2%-5% on a newer machine: Intel Core i5-2 (sandy bridge) with hyper-threading, running 64bit Fedora 15. All of the 4 CPUs shown in htop are not even half used.

There was a bug with the timing on windows, which caused massive physics slowdowns, although the scenes weren't that big. This rendered the game unplayable on some windows machines. This should be fixed now.
We can still see slowdowns of a few percent in some levels, but they are quite playable. The timing could probably still be better, but I am downgrading the imprtance of this bug.
(Of course, you can still create levels that are slow if you just put enough objects in them.)

I am also experiencing this although with slowdowns of 60-120% (it feels like I'm on the moon) with CPU loads around 40% (quad core) but still very smooth graphics (both fullscreen and windowed).
Windows XP, Nvidia 8800 GT graphics with very recent drivers (275.33).
