Hello.

The NGINX Mainline and NGINX Stable PPAs, and the staging PPAs, are fed directly from Debian's packaging. This means that Debian has to vet and discuss inclusion of the module, and then release it to the Debian repositories before the PPAs will ever pick it up.

This applies to Ubuntu as well - the packages there are fed right from Debian and nowhere else. Merges during the development cycle in Ubuntu will usually get some of those such fixes included in that Ubuntu release until such time Debian removes those modules from the packaging.

To that end, this is being "Won't Fix"'d for the Nginx project here on Launchpad (PPA tracker for ~nginx), the Staging PPAs under teward's PPA bugs tracker (~teward, both series listed below), and if the Ubuntu nginx packages are included here at some point, they will be Wont Fix'd for the same reasons, plus the want to NOT have as big a delta between Ubuntu and Debian's nginx packages.

To that end, you need to file a bug in Debian against the nginx source package to request inclusion of a given module.
