Bug Description

U+0193 should have a hook like U+0187 and not a horn-like hook.
U+01B3 should have a hook on the right, not on the left, the Unicode standard fixed it's example glyph a while ago.
U+01B2 should be like a round-v (the upsilon-like v in some italic) and not a v with a inward hook on the right. It is also missing it's lowercase but I guess the lowercases in the IPA Extensions block of the uppercases in Latin Extended-B block are on their way.

ACK on 0193; I feel like I used to have that done; may be victim of a flipped reference.
ACK on 01B3; durn Unicoders....
Question on 01B2 -- I see other typefaces use a pretty un-upsilon-like V as the base; is there no room for stylistic variation there? [See DejaVu Sans, for example] Because I worry about being too rounded; there's potential for confusion with 016E or 01B1 (examples only), since ATF News Gothic is pretty angular about so many capital forms.

Note that that's not a NAK; I'd really like to know where the limits are....

Historically speaking U+028B and its uppercase U+01B2 is a
straightened italic round v or script v. See
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IPA_consonant_chart_(pre-1912).png
or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IPA_chart_(1951).png
The only way to differentiate it from U and Ʊ is by having a straight
stroke on the left and a round one on the right terminating with an
inward hook, whereas U has two straight strokes and Ʊ has two round
strokes with horizontal strokes similar to serifs on top. Ʋ/ʋ can have
a serif on the left if that helps differentiation.

The straight vs round strokes, hook vs normal terminal, and optional
left serif help differentiating the letters.
The poor naming in Unicode has generated wrong glyphs in many fonts,
even though there is a note "script v".

If News Cycle had angular C, J, O, Q or U it would be fine to have an
angular Ʋ/ʋ, since it is a round letter, it should be as the other
round letters.

Denis, if you get a few minutes free, I'd appreciate any feedback on the new LatinExt-B lowercase glyphs checked into the Regular sfd. Well, the revised Ʋ too, obviously, but the miniscules are entirely new additions -- ɛ ɠ ɣ ɨ ɩ ɯ ɲ ɵ ʀ ʈ ʊ and ʋ.

Cool. Thanks.

I also spotted the following: U+0199 U+01AD U+0253 U+0257 (ƙƭɓɗ) have
rather high hooks, the hook should be as high as . It doesn't have to
be the same as U+0066 (f) or U+017F (ſ) but it could help if they were
more familiar.
The hooks of U+0188 U+01A5 U+01B3 U+0260 (ƈƥƴɠ) are indeed lower, but
it's ok if they are more pronounced (thicker and a bit above o-height
for U+0188). For U+01A5 (ƥ) the form with the hook directly above the
descender (making it look like a thorn with a hook above) is also a
variant.

So basically ƭɓɗƙ should be like or close to fſ (how close depends on
design), then the hooks of ƈƥɠ should be a bit above x-height but
salient enough to be distinguishable from their hookless counterparts
at small sizes.

For the hooks below or tails of U+014B U+0192 U+0256 U+0272 U+0288
(ŋƒɖɲʈ) they should be like or close to j.
