What about the case where some interfaces need one MTU size, and others need a different one?

IE: management network on 1G interfaces with MTU = 1500 versus a storage / data network on 10G interfaces with MTU = 9000

In that case, this patch seems inadequate, as there's only one MTU value that can be set.
