MarcH, I'm not sure if it's an issue in eglibc, but from what I can tell the patch you mentioned has been in Ubuntu for a long while (and is actually in the upstream eglibc release at this point).

NM requires having all the DNS servers available for cases such as split-tunnelling in VPNs. As such, such a functionality will probably not be removed. However, since it seems like the order in which the DNS nameservers are being written is not consistent, the issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody could send the bug to the developers of NetworkManager by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.
