favorite names are not updated when menu item names change

Changing the name of a menu item does not affect it's name in the favorites section.

At the same time there seems to be no way to modify the favorite names by hand.

does the update happen after reboot/logout

Start menu editor and modify the name of a random favorite. Then go to the favorites display, there the favorite's name has not been updated.

what happens if you reboot or logout and login again? Does doing that update the name?

I cannot test it anymore, but as far as I remember login or reboot did not update the favorites.

confirming this on the latest version of netbook launcher in lucid (netbook-launcher_2.1.12-0ubuntu4)

and also for application's original name to be changed netbook launcher have to be restarted

I just had the same problem in the full release of 10.04 when I change the icon for an app in the menu editor it doesn't do anything to the icon used in favorites.

My research shows that the problem is that the .desktop files created for the favorites menu ( in ~/.local/share/applications) ONLY set the Icon[en-us]=/path/of/my/new/icon it does NOT however also edit the Icon=/path/to/old/icon

I posted my discovery on one of the other duplicates of this bug as well, I hope that this helps someone to fix this, because it really looks UGLY (especially when you make prism apps, and all it shows up as the launcher icon, YUCK)
