Bug Description

When the LDAP user lookup method is configured as 'search' (As is needed for Microsoft AD), the construction of the search filter will fail and cause the login page to crash if the user's login name contains non-ASCII characters.

(this is similar to bug 1301251, but in that bug, it was non-ASCII characters in the search result that caused the crash)
