Bug Description

If the Nautilus browser, it is now impossible to hide the main navigation bar
(arrows/reload etc...), it's broken.

Also, would be great to be able to customize this tool bar like Epiphany or
Galeon allow to do, it's very convenient.

The hiding part is fixed, however it's still not customisable.

I'm shocked that Nautilus is missing this functionality. Ideally, i'd like it to function like Firefox (as suggested by a forum poster), along with the ability to drag & drop items into the main toolbar. At the moment, this and the network settings manager are my only gripes with gnome/Ubuntu.

I find it quite surprising that the nautilus toolbars cannot be customized. On the main toolbar, the home button is quite useless, because it is redundant to the Home entry in the side pane. I'd like take the few buttons that I do find useful and move them up next to the menu. Please respect the netbook users - vertical space efficiency is critical! I agree, Firefox provides a great UI to emulate.

Indeed, now that Ubuntu has become the most popular distribution for mainstream, with Gnome and Nautilus, I do miss this ability to easily customize the main toolbar as I could in KDE Konqueror, such as for adding a "Show/Hide hidden files", or in Firefox.

It is great to have a clean, elegant minimalistic interface but the ability to customize it is my rather important in many users opinion. It would be great if the toolbar customization could be reconsidered.
