This got me too. Some how the initial installation (9.10 I think?) went OK, perhaps because it was using grub1 but an upgrade to grub 2 post installation was not successful in finding my Windows partition (which was working well with grub1), and now I am having trouble getting that drive to mount for inspection purposes. So, I too am attempting to access and locate my Windows partition. Are there any remedies? If so ls post int he follow up. I must access that data. It is critical.

It would be helpful to know the locations on the file system where the old grub data was saved. For example, seeing the previous grub.conf file would be helpful in unraveling this problem. I am hopeful the installer programs did not destroy that User data without saving it off somewhere.
