Keyspan remote not listed as supported

Bug Description

On automatic installation, step 12 of 15, Configure Remote Control, the Choose Remote dropdown does not include the Keyspan Express Remote, a USB remote and receiver primarily used for Apple users. Perhaps this is not a popular remote and not worth the effort, but it does have the keys necessary to do a good, basic job of handling the DVR.

Do you have any additional information like lircd.conf files? Or
instructions how to set up that remote to work in Linux?

Sorry, no. The Mythbuntu wiki for remote controls has some workarounds but I
am in the process of trying Mythbuntu for the first time, so I'm in the
middle of setup and I haven't tried any of those.

Carl,

have you made any progress? Maybe we can get this supported properly for our next release with your help.

Hi,

Actually I went ahead and purchased an MCE remote. Now that I have some
experience using Mythbuntu, I realize that perhaps what is really needed is
just an IR receiver so that a programmable remote can be used that will do
other things, like turn off the tv and amplifier and adjust the volume. I
programmed my cheap Sony remote with the important keys from the MCE
remote so I can run everything off of one remote, and now I don't even use
the MCE remote, just its receiver.

So, no, I haven't done anything with the Keyspan, and I would suggest
allocating resources elsewhere.

Okay since there was never any lircd.conf or lircrc attached, i'm going to mark this bug as "Won't Fix". Feel free to open it up again if you have additional information related to it.

I was just given this remote. I'd love to get it working and will do testing as needed. Is it possible to get a bit of help?
