Great, thanks for double-checking.

The log messages are expected. They simply indicate that something didn't work when trying to get a thumbnail. It's not clear to me who is to blame here. As far as the thumbnailer is concerned, it receives an error indication from the server and returns an image response indicating that the request failed.
