Andrew, I can clarify how we (MOS team) tested the fix. We have a Hadoop job which reads and writes data from/to Swift. When Ceph with Rados GW was used instead of Swift the job failed with the symptoms provided in the description. We've verified the the job succeeds when Ceph is patched for both Ubuntu and CentOS. Let me know if you need more details.
