Bug Description

Observing that sometimes when there is connectivity/firewall problem , I can enter the video plugin menu(eg onions ) , enter the video , but the video does not play, It will be good if there is somekind of feedback instead of videos going blank, gives following stack trace:

Do you mean that you're not getting any popup with an error message such as "No decoder to handle media type 'text/html'"? The log excerpt you attached suggests this should be the case.
Can you still reproduce? I suspect the fix for bug #338187 may have fixed this as well.

Olivier, I think he means the video doesn't play and there's no info on why it does not. It would be useful to pop a window up with info like 'Not found' for 404 errors, 'Couldn't connect' when the connection was refused or timed out.

Now Moovida just silently fails.

Yes, previously I was not getting "No decoder to handle media type 'text/html'" pop up , but now Iam getting this pop up everytime post bug #338187 fix.As far as 'couldn't connect' errors are concerned ,observed that there is no feedback for such scenarios.

@Sudesh: just to clarify things, you _do_ get a popup for missing 'text/html' decoder, right? But you don't get any visible feedback when there are connectivity issues. Am I correct? Is that what wanted to report as a bug? If so I think this is bug #233569.

What was I trying to report was same as bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/elisa/+bug/430589 , once I got 'text/html' error , I was not able to any other videos without any feedback .I thought at that time that due to 'firewall/connectivity' issues , I was unable to play videos.

Can you still reproduce?

The issue is not reproducible anymore . I used to get the 'text/HTML' pop up and subsequently was not able to play any videos. Now under similar scenario I can play other videos in the plugin.
