I'm on a Retina mac, yeah.
Just retested this and unfortunately it has only served to complicate things. Deere and Shade are consistently fine for me. Somehow I managed to set the issue off on LateNight, then couldn't reproduce it after a handful of go-rounds, now I've managed it a second time and I don't know how I did it.
