It's MP3 (256 kBit/s quality).
When I reload the file (via drag & drag from Windows Explorer) the upper waveform is there after a few seconds, but the lower (compacted) waveform still takes up to 45 seconds to load. When loading the track, the CPU load is about 80-90%
Proportional: Yes, the longer and larger the files are, the longer the waveforms takes to load. But I also have a file with 1.6MB (duration: 5:29 min) which also takes 15 seconds to load the lower waveform.

After loading CPU load is 50-70%, is this normal?

I like Jonas Ådahl's patch and would love to see it implemented. But still, this does not resolve the issue.
