Any slider? What about the crossfader only ? Changing the crossfader
shouldn't cause any changes in the work done in processing.

Certain knobs, like EQ in particular, but also volume and gain cause extra
processing to go on if they move from their default. The reason is that to
save CPU, for example when volume is applied, if the volume is full, we
don't do any processing.
