I was actually meaning that. But folders, in addition of being expanded/collapsed, could be selected (like a crate), and that could show the tracks of all the crates being in that folder.

So folders, in addition of being a way to organize your crates, would be like a meta-crate that shows all the tracks of all its children.

This is not nothing different to what you've described, it is more like an additional feature. So I assume this would cover your use case.
