Am not sure if am entirely correct or just contradicting Albert, but I
haven't had this problem on the latest beta (1.6.02) ever.
I run Mixxx on Windows XP. Infact I think the version of 1.5 i used earlier
was much less stable than current beta.
There might be files that cannot be analyzed for BPM but Mixxx still plays
them.

mixx brings up error report and closes unexpectedly in the middle of playing
a track, on Windows XP, has happened several times running, not always the
same song (on my partner's laptop). Has been used previously for DJing with no
 problems
