Bug Description

Not a bug - a wish. Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon - Mixxx 2.4 - 1245 - Latenight classic skin

On the preview player, play / stop works with left mouse button
On the samplers play with left mouse / stop with right mouse button.

I would be happy if that would both left mouse button for same user operation.

btw: At the samplers a button with quantisize would very nice - e.g. to run a bassdrum loop in the sampler or other drum loops.

The preview deck and samplers have different use cases and the UI was chosen deliberately:

Samplers:
* always play from start/Cue point on click, like stutter play,
 "Whoo", Whoo", Whooooohooop!" (time-sensitive)
* with left click being play/pause stutter play would be cumbersome and hard to accomplish on time
* samplers are actually meant for short snippets that run from start to
end, so stop should be a very rare action

Preview deck:
* listen to tracks in headphones only, thus timing is irrelevant

re: sampler looping
If you need loops that run long in sync with the main decks I suggest to use decks 3/4 if available. Samplers don't have a (GUI) interface for looping, only repeat, and, unfortunately, that is not able to run in sync with beatloops, see lp:1856683

I made a recording of 10min drum loop - so it worked.
Most i need only 20-30s in a song for a rhythm for dancers if a there are passages without a concrete rhythm.

But thanks for your support. Sampler is for me more comfortable because i can set a default set with some different drums what is loaded on start mixxx.

Greetings, Stefan
