1. Map a fader so it controls volume by default and rate with shift (for example)
2. Move volume to bottom
3. Hold shift and move rate to bottom
4. Release shift
5. Move fader up quickly. Soft takeover will mistakenly engage and the software volume fader will not move until the hardware fader is moved up, down, and back up.
