I'd also love access to my custom metadata frames as I maintain things like - but these are subjective, hence custom as the next person will have named them differently, or has a wholly different set of tags they care about in custom fields/frames:
- instruments (derived from credits, or entered by hand at some point for the main instruments in a track)
- instrumental / riddim - especially helpful for reggae/dancehall/soca/hiphop and other riddim/version based music genres.
- mood
- situation
etc
As for technicalities, I only cratched the surface, but I believe Musicbee and foobar, which both support multi values as well as custom field, can read each others' tag fields of both types, and use:
flac = comment vectors
id3 = TXXX frame
But the Mixx developers will know much better than me ;)
This goes hand in had with this: /bugs.launchpad .net/mixxx/ +bug/1743699
