Bug Description

Touch screens are becoming increasingly common. It would be great if Mixxx could be used intuitively with a touch screen without the need for an external controller. To make this work well may require abandoning traditional paradigms of interacting with DJ equipment. For example, small knobs, as they exist in Mixxx now, are practically useless on touch screens. Perhaps they could work if enlarged. This could work well with Tuna Knobs (http://tuna-dj-gear.myshopify.com/ ). Alternatively, knobs could be replaced by faders. Or a new kind of control interface could be created. For example, there could be a button to touch that brings up a fader until the finger is lifted from the screen.

I think touchscreens on phones and tablets are fundamentally different so slapping a new coat of paint on Mixxx with a special skin is probably not going to cut it. You can make a skin today with giant widgets and it would sort of work on Windows 8 touchscreen notebooks and such but when we go mobile I think the entire UI needs a fundamental rethink.

Also, the Qt on Android docs say that if you want to use OpenGL, the QGLWidget has to be the top-level widget and can't be inside a regular widget hierarchy. So it would need a rethink and rewrite (not that that's not impossible)
