@RJ: As long as the package naming convention is respected, the apt system will install the latest version of a given package regardless of which source supplies it. So in the case of an old PortAudio, people on the older version of the OS would have our PA version since it's named newer than what the OS supplies, but those that have upgraded will get the OS version since it's newer than ours.
