Comment 55 for bug 1277274

I do think this is a very similar problem to the issue of two sound cards. Is there any way we can reuse some of that code? Either way I think this design is good. As usual, if you can write the code in a way that makes it easier to test (injectable dependencies, pure functions, clean interface separation) please do.
