Would it be helpful if I filed a bug with Portaudio ?
Are you using Portaudio to make cross compiling easier ? When I last checked Jack Audio Connection Kit was in very early development on Windows and I'm not even sure how many or even if people use Jack on Windows. Would it make more sense to reserve Jack support for Linux ? That might make development of Jack for Mixxx easier.
