The song causing the crash is not necessarily the one loaded in a deck. So what might appear like random crashing on any song is actually just that Mixxx crashes when it scans the same problem song in the background.
It is also possible that a failed recording produced a corrupt file and every time Mixxx tries to read the metadata of this corrupt file it triggers the crash bug in TagLib.
Upgrading Mixxx isn't going to help because this is a taglib bug (it's very easy to see in the backtrace that this is the case).
