Bug Description

every time i open up midori, libreoffice launches as well. this occurs regardless of whether i launch it from the command line, or from my deskmenus. im not sure why this is happening, but it does, regardless of options i append to the command. im running slackware -current, and using fluxbox as a window manager, but the bug happens in kde, openbox, and awesome as well (im assuming other de/wm's as well, but those are those are all that i've tested so far)

As far as I can tell, this is caused by the libreoffice netscape plugin misbehaving. Aside from uninstalling that plugin or disabling netscape plugins, I don't know of anything that can be done.

Midori and Google Music Frame use WebKitGtk. LibreOffice Mozilla plugin causes LibreOffice is opened when WebkitGtk initializes plugins.

OP can you still confirm this issue with the latest Midori?

If so, can you post your Midori and Webkit versions?

An unusual, Ubuntu bug - would be nice to confirm though.

Having said that - I have little sympathy for the idea it's a LibreOffice bug - if the plugin works correctly in Mozilla (which it appears to), it seems reasonably clear to me that WebKitGtk must be doing something different to Mozilla as it re-uses these, to get it to launch on startup - and hence this is a webkit bug.

We'd need to get whomever wrote the webkit / mozilla-plugin bridge to look into it; so - tentatively marking notourbug: if you can get more, detailed information from those guys on how to improve our plugin please do re-open.

Thanks !

Has anyone tried with another WebKit browser such as Epiphany or xombrero?

So I just tried the plugin, it works, I can for example view http://opendocumentformat.org/webodf/#/demo.odt inside the browser.
The only flaw I can see is this message:

javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment!
Warning: failed to read path from javaldx
