Comment 4 for bug 707024

My apologies for looking into this late, unfortunately the bug notifications are not always good at attracting my attention. To add to it, I can't reliably reproduce this issue although I have seen it.

After some testing a patch similar to the above was committed, the code changed a bit in master. It looks like it improves the issue, although it's not fully solved, thus I set the status to 'Requires research'.
