If the problem you described is still reproducible on 5.3.5, could you please add the remaining info (DDL for the table p_final_sections used in the first query, and also contents of the tables, if possible -- it would help a lot).

Do you have any more information about the failure? Did it happen only once, or is it recurring? Were you able to identify the query that causes the problem?
