Igor's point has some value in that we can't spend tons of time chasing race conditions or difficult-to-repeat problems.

I think we could avoid the argument altogether if the bug report contains info about whether the issue is easily repeatable. Rangden prints the query that has caused the crash, so that one can re-start the server and see if it can be crashed by running that query. If it does, then it is much easier to determine whether the problem is on Maria side or MySQL side, whose code this is, etc.
