Bug Description

when i installed 10.04 sound was fine every thing worked great when i installed 10.10 and then 11.04 upgrade it stoped working. this laptop is a toshiba satelite m115 - S1064 actually it may be a kernal modul problem

ok i created a new user loged out restarted and loged in with new user account still no sound

Thanks for your bug report. Did you have sound when you used Ubuntu 10.10? Could you try updating your audio drivers, as outlined at the following URL: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules

also have satellite m115 and experienced the same problem when i upgraded, could it be the model laptop? also having problems with package manager, tried to install drivers through that with zero luck, i am very new to ubuntu and need help
