Yes @Javier,
There is no indication that the images are getting imported and I'm pissed off with that by sitting 48 hours by keeping my server ON.

I solved that problem by executing the below commands.

Restart your server or desktop.
Install nload or network load indicator by:
$sudo apt-get nload

now run nload by:
$nload

You can see a screen with almost empty incoming and empty outgoing.

Now click on Import Images in MAAS.

Hope this helps.
You can see the network load now to see the progress.
