The API hasn't changed, only a few calls have been added that shouldn't affect existing bindings.
Since puppet is an rdepend of libaugeas-ruby1.8, want to particularly make sure we don't break that.
Puppet uses the ruby bindings to provide a native augeas type. The Ruby bindings have unit tests, so we can verify the existing Ruby bindings work with the new augeas. This should be a reasonable proxy for the other bindings (and they don't have rdepends in the archive, so the associated risks are lower).
