*** 1. Edit the file: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/gtk.immodules ***
2. Add your LOCALE to the end of the line beginning with "cedilla".
If you use Ubuntu in English, your locale is probably: en or en_US.
Add any LOCALE that you usually use as well.
Original line:
"cedilla" "Cedilla" "gtk20" "/usr/share/locale" "az:ca:co:fr:gv:oc:pt:sq:tr:wa"
Update to Volanin's recipe at #18
How to fix this in Maverick in 2 steps:
*** 1. Edit the file: /usr/lib/ gtk-2.0/ 2.10.0/ gtk.immodules ***
2. Add your LOCALE to the end of the line beginning with "cedilla".
If you use Ubuntu in English, your locale is probably: en or en_US.
Add any LOCALE that you usually use as well.
Original line: co:fr:gv: oc:pt:sq: tr:wa"
"cedilla" "Cedilla" "gtk20" "/usr/share/locale" "az:ca:
Modified line: co:fr:gv: oc:pt:sq: tr:wa:en: en_US"
"cedilla" "Cedilla" "gtk20" "/usr/share/locale" "az:ca:
The effect is immediate.
You just need to restart your applications.
