Bug Description

I'm using Nemo 2.6.7 and Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.3. Moving a lot of images (about 100 png-images) from one folder into another one, yields from time to time a warning: "A problem has been detected with your thumbnail cache. Fixing it will require administrative privileges.

This warning seems to be rather harmless because whether you fix it or not, you can still see the thumbnails-view. The annoying part is that this warning often appears, when copying or moving around a bunch of images. Resetting the cache doesn't help.

I'm seeing this with Nemo 3.0.6 and Mint 18.1 too. It's annoying. I sorta wish we could just turn it off, or get some deeper diagnostic as that causes it and fix that. But as it is I am just constantly confronted with this message. PITA.

Still seeing this every few days on Nemo 3.2.2 and Linux Mind 18.1.

Annoying but not life threatening.

I get this error everytime I move a .jpg file form one directory to another. Since I am reorganizing my files I get this many times a day. Seems worse since I migrated to 18.1 and Nemo 3.2.2

I get this whenever I move / copy a jpg, movie or CBR file. With large bulk moves, this can happen three or four times before the move has finished. In total maybe 20 or 30 times in a day. Very annoying.

It's only been happening since the upgrade to 18.1.

This problem is still occuring. Fresh install of Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.1 32 bit, all packages up to date.

I don't want to complain because everybody on Linux Mint is working for free. But I would like to see developers fixing things like this before dealing with fancy new features. This is *really* annoying. I can not suggest Linux Mint to colleagues, I can not switch my work environment to Linux Mint if things like this keep happening.

Agree with alexdd! Am also very annoyed and it effects credibility of LinuxMint, although unlike alexdd I would still recommend it. May this be our biggest problem!!

Problem continues, even with various suggested scripts by others afflicted. Fully support alexdd in keeping this alive. Granted that this is not a critical issue, by being a "squeaky wheel" hopefully its priority will increase.
