This bug first appeared with Linux Mint 17.0 and is much more severe than what is mentioned in the bug description. If you have a local file/directory copy/move operation going on when ejecting (unmounting) a samba share then the operation is abnormally terminated, and data corruption occurs! Extremely nasty to have data corruption occurring with a bug like this.

Bug is not critical in nature since there is a workaround. When Cinnamon crashes the desktop can be restored simply by going to a local place (eg "Documents") via "Menu" -> "Places". If Clem is reading this then he urgently needs to get this issue fixed before the Linux Mint 17.3 release arrives. This issue is very severe and could easily become critical if it isn't resolved quickly. Accessing a samba share via Nemo is a very common use case in Cinnamon.
