Has there been any update on this bug? I installed Mint 17.1 maybe a week ago on an old Dell Vostro 1510 laptop and just recently discovered the bug when when on YouTube. I was using Firefox for a while after I installed, and I can't remember if I ever got a black screen then, but I switched over to Chromium where I first noticed the issue.
