Firefox google search provider does not show suggestions

Bug Description

Mint 14 Cinnamon. Use google as search provider in the address bar no search suggestions show up. Other search providers show suggestions.

I get this too so will confirm for now.

Although, I'm not sure if it's intended to give suggestions? Duck Duck Go, amazon and google all do not do this. Maybe it's a technical issue which prevents it, in which case, this is technically not a bug, as it is working as intended. A dev will need to clarify

Yahoo does work I have not tried the others you have. It didn't work in mint 13 either.

This bug is still present in Linux Mint 17.1 (Rebecca) 64-bit with Firefox 36.0.
