Bug Description
Thumbnails for raw format photo files aren't visible in the file manager in Mint Debian,a blank placeholder or randomly a generic image icon are displayed instead.
I'm reporting this referring to Canon raw files with .CR2 extension, but actually other equivalents (as . NEF or .PEF for instance) also have the same issue-furthermo
Whilst these files are displayed with a proper thumbnail in Nautilus in Ubuntu (installing libopenraw1,
For comparison,XnView 0.51 displays these thumbnails correctly in Mint Debian.
1)Linux mintdebian 3.2.0-3-amd64 x86_64 GNU/Linux (Mate)
2)Download/import any .CR2 image file (or equivalent),then open the file manager to see the image preview and launch gThumb to browse the folder
3)No thumbnail is visible either in file manager (Caja or Nautilus) and gThumb
4)Thumbnails (image preview) for raw image files should be visible in the file manager and in gThumb
5)Always happens with all raw .CR2 files (and equivalents)
I am affected by this as well but the extension used by Nikon is .NEF
I installed gnome-raw- thumbnailer and that fixed part of the problem. In a directory listing of 125 files, nemo only displays half the thumbnails. This is better than none. All would be great!
