Here you have my feedback:
You are doing a great job. So, thank you!!!

I am using Thunderbird 17.0.2 portable and I have Lightning 1.9.1
I also have Exchange 2007/2010 Calendar and Tasks Provider 3.1.3 and since some time I didn't have any problem.
For Exchange I tried also 3.2.0 Beta 38 and 3.2.0 Beta 42 but with none of them I could connect to our Exchange server.
